Lingua Franca was inspired by an extraordinary vineyard site in the Eola-Amity Hills of the Willamette Valley. Our name represents a fine tradition of universal language, bringing people of different worlds to common ground – shared conversation, shared enjoyment.
All of our work is guided by respect for the environment, encouraging healthy diversity of life around and among us. We follow sustainable farming practices animated by biodynamic principles. Our winemaking methods are traditional, and we work with a light hand. We do not conform to a predetermined style, but allow the flavors and aromas of the place to express themselves in each bottling. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or inquiries.
Our just-completed winery was designed by the Portland architectural firm of Laurence Ferar & Associates in collaboration with Dominique Lafon, Thomas Savre, and Larry Stone. It is a winemaker’s winery in layout, with special features from crush pad to bottling line that ensure economy of effort all year round.
Our team is committed to farming and winemaking practices that respect the environment, believing that complex and undisturbed ecosystems help to create the most complex and seductive wines.
Lingua Franca is closed to the public, but we welcome visitors to our Deluxe Tasting Tent with an advance appointment. Availability of appointments is limited. Please inquire by calling 503-687-3005 or by emailing our Director of Hospitality, Rachel Adams, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
